Teaching @ UR Institute
This day-long institute, prior to the start of the Fall semester, is designed to support new faculty as they prepare for teaching at the University of Richmond. Participants engage with a range of topics essential to their teaching roles, including effective use of classroom technology, key university policies (such as FERPA and mandatory reporting), and strategies for supporting students in academic and personal distress. The institute also introduces approaches to course and syllabus design, lesson planning, and inclusive pedagogy. Opportunities for campus tours and collegial connection are also included.
